Vision
Students and alumni of WSU are socially aware, responsible, and actively engaged in issues leading to meaningful change in the world.
 
Mission
Promote civic responsibility, community knowledge, and self awareness for students through education and action
 
Civic Responsibility:
knowledge, skills and intent to engage in community to effect positive change
 
Community Knowledge:
understanding of social, cultural, and environmental issues and the contexts in which they exist.
 
Self Awareness:
knowledge of self with understanding and respect for the perspectives and life experiences of others
 
Strategic Goals
  1. Enhance the quality of learning and well being of all WSU students through culturally diverse civic engagement and leadership experiences.
  2. Continuously develop key campus and community partnerships that promote the mission of the Center for Civic Engagement.
  3. Align the Center for Civic Engagement with institutional initiatives that support a culture of engagement.
  4. Maximize program resources to accomodate increased responsibility for the undergraduate experience.
