Internships

Service Learning Internships are a valuable way to make a difference in the world while gaining practical work experience year round.  Community partners around the state, nation, and world offer a variety of internship opportunities designed to enhance your self-awareness, community knowledge, and civic leadership skills while complimenting academic and/or career goals.

Depending on your academic and personal interests, Service Learning Internship positions might find you developing and implementing a 4-H Day Camp, creating and facilitating nutrition education activities for school children, building a website, researching range land management or designing a marketing campaign for a non-profit organization.

If gaining the satisfaction of meeting community needs while exploring practical knowledge and developing leadership skills appeals to you, please contact Kim Freier, kfreier@wsu.edu at the CCE or call (509) 962-7092 to find out more about Service Learning Internships.

Resources available to support your internship experience may include:  Academic credit through LibArts 497 (2 to 16 credits, graded) or Univ. 300 (1 credit, Pass/fail), education awards (scholarships) through enrollment in Americorps' Students in Service program, or stipends or other financial support.
