Service is not just for the betterment of our communities, but the betterment of ourselves. Not only will you help those you are directly serving, but you will also feel good about your work, gain confidence, open new doors and have something great to put on a resume. 

If large time commitments are an issue, dedicate a day during National Days of Service to celebrate those who have aided progressive change in society such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. or to maintain environmental issues on Earth Day. So rather than staying in your pajamas all day and watching TV get out and do something that will benefit you and your community!
