WSU Center for Civic Engagement

Students

Welcome Students!

Welcome to the Center for Civic Engagement's student pages! The fact that you are here suggests you are interested in community engagement. We encourage you to navigate through the links provided and hope that you find the resources you need. Become involved locally or check out our distant service opportunities to find excellent projects to serve communities across the state and beyond. If you have questions, call the CCE at 509-335-7708 or visit us in CUB L48 and L45.

Search and Sign Up for Service Opportunities
To view civic engagement opportunities near campus and establish your own portfolio of community service experiences while at WSU, create a service profile on SLPro. Peer mentors in our new student resource center (located in CUB L45) will also be happy to assist you!
Record Your Service Hours
Once you register with SLPro and sign up for a service opportunity, use the
Monthly Record of Service Hours Form to track your hours. Your site supervisor must verify your hours on the lines provided. Their signature can either be on each line or at a diagonal so their signature is only touching each line where you have hours recorded. Submit your record of service hours to the CCE office located in CUB L48 to have them recorded into the SLPro database. To learn more about the Record of Service Hours Form, click here.
Need Assistance?
If you are having any trouble creating your profile, registering for a service opportunity or simply have questions, please call our office at 509-335-7708 or visit us in CUB L48 and we will be happy to assist you! You may also read Getting Started with SLPro for assistance with SLPro.

Attention: Online Learners, Students at a Distance
Your partnering agency will not appear in the SLPro database until they register and submit the position that you discuss together. Once that occurs, come back to SLPro and match yourself to that opportunity. Peer Mentors are here to assist you at any step along the way and can be reached by emailing statewidesl@wsu.edu.
