At the CCE, we love being civically engaged Cougs, and during the week of April 19-25, 2015, we want to show you why! Civic Engagement Week is our time to recognize the WSU community’s commitment to making a difference and to provide even more opportunities for to you to stay informed and get involved.

Greek Door-to-Door Food Drive
Sunday, April 19 | 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM
To stay healthy, families and individuals throughout the Palouse need healthy food year round. On Sunday, April 19, Greek students will go door-to-door throughout Pullman to collect bags of canned goods and other supplies. Pullman community members are asked to prepare a bag of food with non-perishable or canned goods. High protein items are preferred.
Donations can also be dropped off at Dissmore’s IGA and Walmart from April 21 to April 23 between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. All donations will benefit the Community Action Center Food Bank.

Sunny skies are the perfect excuse to trade your car for your bike, grow a garden, or go on a walk. While not everyone may be able to plant their own garden, everyone can find small ways to raise awareness and appreciation for the only Earth we have.

Third Annual Leadership and Engagement Awards of Distinction (LEAD) Event

The 2015 LEAD event featuring the President's Award for Leadership is a celebration of WSU student leaders and those who have mentored and supported the efforts of these students as they work towards leadership and social change.

Campus on the Run 5K Fun Run/Walk
Saturday, April 25 | 9:30 AM
Campus on the Run is an annual 5k (3.1mile) fun-run race, co-sponsored by the CCE and University Recreation. Students, faculty, staff, community members, and family members six years and older are welcome to participate in this great event! In addition to the 5K run/walk option, this year there will be an Obstacle Dash as well.

The April 28 Election is Special!
Don’t set your ballot aside; pick it up and vote! April 10 marks the beginning of the 18-day voting period for Washington’s April 28 Special Election. Washington residents of voting age can register to vote in-person until April 20 at your local courthouse. You can look up your voter information at sos.wa.gov/elections/myvote/ by selecting “my candidates & ballot measures” on the left. In this section, you can find out if your county will be holding a special election and what issues will be on your ballot. Make sure to use your voice and cast a vote!

CCE One-Time Service Projects Available All Year
The CCE holds daily one-time service projects for students that are led by a CCE staff member and include free transportation for students! You can register for these projects on CougSync under “Service Opportunities” by searching for “CCE Transportation Provided” or by clicking the “One Time Projects” button.

WSU students can record their service hours as well as other civic engagement activities on CougSync! You can view available projects by clicking 'Service Opportunities' from the WSU Pullman community homepage. You can receive updates and sign up for events on the CCE CougSync Portal. For Global Campus specific announcements, online students should join our Online Portal.
